2008 (pg. 15) issues of the Friend magazine.
It is important that the children understand important words.
When learning what words mean you can , think of several
words that have to do with the monthly theme or the song you want to
teach. Write definitions or descriptions
of each word on a sheet of paper. Write
the words on s sheet of paper. Have the
child match the word to the definition.
Be creative on how you do this. Draw from a bag, match on the board, or use
seasonal items.
Have a child choose a definition, read it and then choose the matching word card. Discuss the meaning of the word.

Sing the song you are learning or let them choose a song
that fits the message of the word.
