Bean Bags

Bean Bag Pass

Instead of visual aids, you can use other activities that follow up on the question. For instance, if you were teaching the song “I Believe in Being Honest” You could ask the question “What do I believe in?” After hearing the answer, pass a beanbag around while singing the phrase once or twice again. Instead of letting the child holding the bean bag, draw a paper that says something like have the person on the left answer the question, or the person in front of the child holding the bean bag, name one way to be honest.

Make a list of the songs you want to review.  Use your imagination as to where and how to present the songs.  Example, poster board, word strips, little cans or baskets, etc.

Include as many titles as you want to use.  Invite a child to toss the beanbag to choose a song to sing. You can adjust the tossing distance according to age or ability.
Be sure to prepare a way for the pianist to find the song quickly. (This would apply to all activities)
